100th Day of School Coin Challenge at the Elementary School

The school year is flying by and to mark our 100th day of the 2022-23 school year, FoAEA will celebrate with a 100-coin challenge!

Elementary students can bring coins from home and raise money for a worthy cause. The beneficiary of the donated money will be the Monarch School, a K-12 school just three miles from AEA that serves nearly 300 unhoused students in San Diego county. Students can bring in coins of any value with the goal of bringing in 100 coins each.

Donation bins will be located in the classrooms and classes that raise the most money will get a prize.

Family Engagement Corner

What is a School Site Council (SSC)?
Educational partners including parents and family members, teachers and staff, administrators, and interested members of a school community who collaborate to guide their school’s plan to reduce the achievement gap and ensure all students meet state academic standards. SSC members are elected by their peers at schools which receive Title I Federal Funding.

Who Should Attend AEA SSC meetings and Why?
Monthly SSC meetings are open to everyone. We value input from parents, families, students, teachers, staff, and community members. We know it takes a village and your ideas, questions, and input can make a big difference for our students!

Members of our AEA SSC are currently collaborating to:
1) Review student testing data and making recommendations for meaningful interventions.
2) Distribute a survey to seek meaningful input from all of our educational partners to create a Family Engagement Policy and a Family School Compact.

===========================
